Alumni Network Activities
Mu Tau Beta maintains a network of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte Counseling alumni. There are several gatherings per year for current students, alumni, and faculty so that you may form your own networks of counseling professionals. Also, there are social gatherings to honor and celebrate the counseling students who are May and December graduates.
Professional Development Seminars
Students, faculty and local counseling professionals are invited to attend these informational workshops and educational programs. Past topics have included resume writing, survival skills for teens and relationships.
Professional Meetings
Students are encouraged to attend professional meetings such as the American Counseling Association World Conference, North Carolina Counseling Association Conference, North Carolina School Counselors’ Conference, and North Carolina ASERVIC Semi-annual Drive-in Conferences.
Professional Presentations
Students are invited to assist professors in making presentations at professional conferences. Many students present poster sessions at the American Counseling Association Annual Conference and the North Carolina Counselors Association Conference each year. (Although not every student presents at each conference, we encourage you to attend with the faculty and students from our department).
