United Way of Central Carolinas - Information & Referral

A comprehensive community directory of resources for Charlotte/Mecklenburg County and surrounding areas. Their helpful lists provide resources including government services; housing, food and financial support; transportation; job search assistance, health resources, human service agencies, support groups, community clubs, recreation and education programs, etc... Carolinas Heath Care System - Behavioral Health

Carolinas HealthCare System offers specialized Behavioral Health Centers to meet mental health needs of all ages. The Behavioral Health Center at CMC-Randolph's inpatient services include crisis stabilization, separate units for children and adolescents. Outpatient care ranges from partial hospitalization to intense outpatient therapies, medication monitoring, and school programming. A 24-hour call center, and 24-hour psychiatric emergency care is available from this provider. (Call center counselors are available at 704-444-2400 or 1-800-418-2065.)

Mecklenburg County Women's Commission

The Mecklenburg County Women's Commission helps assist victims of domestic violence. Its focus is on employment, training, domestic violence services and advocacy. The agency's domestic violence or “intimate partner violence” services help DV victims, children exposed to abuse, as well as those committing abuse. Public awareness and education programs are provided to the community. United Family Services' domestic violence programs and the Mecklenburg County Women's Commission's domestic violence services have joined together in a collaborative effort to reach a wider audience by forming the Domestic Violence Speakers Bureau.
