Mu Tau Beta Chapter

Promoting Excellence in the Profession of Counseling

Chi Sigma Iota, International

The mission of Chi Sigma Iota, the international honor society for professional counselors, counselor educators, and students established at Ohio University in 1985, is to promote scholarship, research, professional leadership and excellence in counseling, and to recognize high attainment in the pursuit of academic and clinical excellence in the profession of counseling.

We promote a strong professional identity through members (professional counselors, counselor educators, and students) who contribute to the realization of a healthy society by fostering wellness and human dignity.

Mu Tau Beta was established at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1990 and has initiated over 300 members to date.

Our chapter mission is to provide a network with the Department of Counseling at UNCC. The goal is to have a group of people who help to provide resources, professional services, activity and networking options for the students and alumni of the UNCC Counseling program.
