Membership in Mu Tau Beta is open to:

• Professional counselors.
  
• UNC Charlotte counseling faculty.
  
• UNC Charlotte counseling alumni.
  
• Students currently enrolled in the UNC-Charlotte Masters in Counseling program or Doctorate in Counseling program.

Eligibility Requirements

Just to clear up some questions about joining Mu Tau Beta this year, those who are eligible (have completed 12 credits and have a GPA of 3.5 or better) will receive notification via an emailed letter. This letter will be your key to joining MTB. Letters of eligibility will be sent out before the induction in the spring (mid-February). After you receive the letter, you will be given instructions on joining MTB.

For individuals interested in transferring their membership to the Mu Tau Beta chapter: this takes a few moments on the National CSI website. On the membership page, there is a link to the "Membership Transfer Form." Interested individuals just need to complete that form. It can be found here: National CSI Website

For individuals graduating this December: Please keep in mind that if you have not joined Mu Tau Beta yet, it is not too late! Mu Tau Beta and CSI International allow individuals to be inducted as an alumni! The requirement is that you must have graduated with a 3.5 GPA and hold a state license or national certification in counseling (for example, be a National Certified Counselor). Please contact Courtney Ycaza with an email address that you will be accessing regularly post-graduation so you can be included!

For the 2010- 2011 school year, there will be one induction ceremony in April 2011, which will include a keynote speaker, food, drinks, and inspiration from counseling professors!
